The Tweed valley area is situated close to the New South Wales and Queensland border on the east coast of Australia.
This valley contains three World Heritage National Parks.
The Border Ranges National Park spans the two states and is 85 km from east to west. The Nightcap National Park covers the western side of the Nightcap Range 30 kms from Murwillumbah. Mount Warning National Park surrounds Mount Warning which was the central magma chamber of the largest shield volcano 20 million years ago.
The Tweed Coast is a 35 km stretch of coastal beaches, which covers an area from the Tweed River to Wooyung. It is a favourite holiday destination for many Australians and indeed tourists, Surfers Paradise being only 30 minutes away to the north.
